An Entry from Kira’s Journal
They do not know. They never know. Why do my dreams touch the veil over our existence? Why do I see a glimpse of something beyond? And why does it call to me? Its voice, ancient, and like tiny pins at the back of my neck, it beckons—and worse, I yearn to hear it again.

Kira was born in Inazuma, or so it was presumed. Her adoptive parents found her as a child wandering the shores near Kondo Village with only an electro vision as a companion. It was almost like fate to them, like the gods had bestowed upon them a gift. They so badly wanted a child of their own but were unable to achieve that desire, so when Kira appeared to them—after no success locating her true family—they took her in and raised her as their own.The little girl brought joy to their lives, and they strived to give her everything they could. As she grew older, they spared no expense, affording her Inazuma City’s fineries and giving her the best educators they could find.It was not long before they noticed certain unusual traits about her. Kira was often plagued by nightmares; at times, this resulted in a burst of electrical energy. When Kira was open about her dreams, her parents recoiled at the frightening descriptions of demon shadows and whispering darkness. As a result, she learned to keep her dreams to herself, deciding it was best to bury her fears and endure them alone.During the beginning days of the Sakoku Decree, implemented by their very own Raiden Shogun, Kira’s family managed to procure illegitimate but safe passage for their daughter to Liyue Harbor. Despite Kira’s protests, they forced her to leave to ensure she did not fall prey to the Vision Hunt Decree. As much as it pained them, they bid her farewell and this rushed dismissal left her with a bitter aftertaste. Now twice abandoned, Kira’s life had been turned upside down. She viewed their actions more as a way to rid themselves of a cursed orphan, more than as a means to save her life.At first, she felt lost in Liyue, a doe-eyed wanderer in foreign streets. As she settled into her new home, she grew an affinity with the lush, vast landscapes of the realm. She took it upon herself to further craft her skill in herbalism, also learning from a new acquaintance—Miena, an herbal merchant—and selling her teas and remedies at Miena’s small shop in the markets of Liyue Harbor.During her travels in Liyue, she often stayed at the Wangshu Inn, using the establishment as a point of reference before she set out on her long herbal gatherings—she returned there later to vendor and trade some of her findings. She favored sleepless nights underneath the shadows of Liyue’s mountains, often practicing her visionary art in a dance beneath lunar rays. During the day, she collected her herbs and flowers; during the evening, she counted the stars—anything to keep the dreams at bay, anything to convince her she belonged.

I am my own fear.
It's over now; I come apart—
It's in my blood.

The onyx web of her affliction, the dreaded Andras, the one who called himself the demon prince—he was no prince. His presence is the very essence of her fears, his gaze like malevolent whispers scraping at her senses. The seeping shadows did his bidding, coiling around her wrists and lashing at her back, the result of which left her scarred in the waking world. When asleep, she is a prisoner to her nightmares, caught in the ceaseless tormenting war he bestowed upon her—an attempt to wake the dormant one within. He claims she is a vessel, a receptacle used to harbor the fallen one. To him, she is no more than a body waiting to be hollowed out.Know that I am dead inside. You're dead inside. The scourge within left Kira's aura tainted and those sensitive to reading such things would be able to see the blackened soul latched to hers. "Kira, my sweet..." he often called to her like a lover lost.I won't give in. You won't win. Andras is biding his time; with each dream, he grows in strength, leeching off her spirit to fuel his power. Unless her battle is won, he will leave her mortal shell as a dry husk and break free of his shackles. She felt her only option was to find the strength to keep him contained. "Archons' aid me: please give me the strength to carry on."Are you running away? Don't hide from me. Day by day, Kira strives to ignore the calls within her. She carries herself with dignity and a stubborn will to pretend she is like everyone else. When the walls she constructed became weak, electrical currents erupt like a protective barrier, warding off the demon and silencing the whispers—for now.

Nervous and frightened amethyst eyes peered over the table at the warrior standing near the threshold of the establishment. He had an intimidating stature, especially with his sword drawn and pointed menacingly at the inn’s owner. His features were not completely visible beneath his intricately carved half-mask, the face of which resembled a snarling wolf, but she could make out the color of his striking blue eyes within the eyelets and a strong jaw where his mask gave way to pale skin beneath.“Where’s the girl?” He questioned the elder man impatiently. “I have orders to bring her with me, so,” he took a step closer to him and pointed the sharpened tip of his blade at the man’s throat, “where is she?”Trembling fingers clutched the edge of the wooden table she was hidden behind and she lifted herself upward a bit to get a better view of the scene that unfolded before her. She noticed the warrior had a cryo vision clasped to his belt, his blade’s sheath, and various other tools of combat. His apparel was reminiscent of other Fatui members she had seen before, but she could not be certain if he was, indeed, a member of that faction.“I-I don’t know, she left,” the old man had his hands held up to signify he was no threat,”y-you just missed her. I don’t know where she went!”The man’s ice blue eyes narrowed as he slowly turned to cast his gaze around the large building. There were several other occupants crouched down behind tables and chairs, all hiding from the angered soldier and desperately hoping they would go unnoticed. Kira, too, hid herself from view once again, not wishing to draw the warrior’s attention. With how fast and hard Kira's heart was beating, she was certain the mere sound would instantly give her away.“Anyone else?” He asked with a hint of annoyance in his tone. “Anyone else want to lie to me? Do you know what I do to liars?” The fingers of his free hand became encased in tiny particles of ice, swirling and dancing around his fingertips.“Please stop,” Kira spoke quickly, her soft voice barely audible. Her quivering fingers grasped the material of her dress as she stood, moving it upward slightly to keep her steps from being hindered. Now completely visible to him, she stepped around the table and let out a soft sigh in defeat. “Please don’t hurt them. I’ll go with you…”The corners of the soldier’s lips curved into a satisfied smirk, “Ah, there you are.” He pulled the blade away from the innkeep and spun it around back into its sheath at his side. Holding his arms out, he mockingly welcomed her. “After you,” he gestured to the doorframe with a slight bow. They both stepped over pieces of the wooden door as they walked outside into the cool night’s air, a light breeze and a moonlit, star-filled sky greeted them openly. There were other soldiers standing guard there and awaiting his instruction, but as soon The Wolf appeared, there was an unspoken communication between them. The frigid man lifted his hand to mildly gesture with a movement of two fingers; this was enough to prompt the others to march inside the inn with their weapons drawn. When Kira noticed this, she turned to follow but the intimidating man blocked her passage and eyed her sternly.“They’re of no concern,” he said dismissively, as he took her by the arm and started to lead her away.“But I’m going with you,” she protested, “there’s no reason for this. What do you even want?” Although she did not know their plans, Kira did not like the idea of these people possibly getting injured because she stopped to have a mug of tea. Kira pushed back against him and fought to free her arm from his grasp. In response to her actions, his grip grew ice-cold with cryo energies, which produced a small whimper from Kira.It was almost like her vision had a mind of its own, as if it reacted protectively to the warrior’s frostbitten touch—her vision flashed and electricity sprung outward from Kira’s small form like a protective shield, causing The Wolf to stagger backward. Once her arm was free of him, she moved to gain some distance between them and turned around to watch him struggle to regain his composure.“Come on now,” he said, “we don’t have time for this. We’ve got a long journey ahead of us.” Despite the distance that was now between them, the warrior did not seem too concerned and moved in casual, careful strides toward her; however, his blade was drawn and held at his side. The breeze that was once calm suddenly increased in strength around them, causing Kira’s lilac and mulberry hair to flow wildly around her. The change in weather went unnoticed by the soldier as he continued to advance toward her, but Kira could have sworn she observed the strange silhouette of something in the wind—a ghost?“Don’t make me—” but his words were cut off as he was suddenly swept up and vanished in a swirl of green and gray energized anemo.Surprised, Kira inquisitively searched the area around her, examining what she could see in the dark, but moonlit path. She was at the edge of the clearing, where the building of the tavern gave way to the forest behind it. The wind returned to normal, just a caressing breeze across her face, and there was no one else in sight.“Hello?” She questioned into the night as she continued to survey her surroundings. Her query went unanswered, leaving her in suspense to wonder who or what the enigma was that had rescued her.

Hey, I'm Sky. <3I adore collaborative writing (literate/semi-literate/adaptive). I plan to develop Kira in both the role-play setting and standalone writing. As this character develops, the information found here is subject to change. I'm always adding more, so do check back.Kira's electro abilities are inspired by the character Six from the Lorien Legacies book series.I use NPCs in my writing. If you're writing with me, anyone can write for them too.Message me on discord with any questions you might have. Alternatively, you can send me an email using the form below. OR better yet, you can have your character send my character a letter. She would definitely write back. :)
